Meet the monster of the ice. A polar bear turns the frozen ocean into hunting ground. Massive paws, a long reach, and the power to haul prey from icy water: this is the kind of animal that makes you stop talking and stare.

How big? Adult males commonly weigh 775 to more than 1,300 pounds. Male grizzlies in the lower 48 average 400–600 pounds. Polar bears are often much heavier, though the largest coastal brown bears can rival them. There’s no one-size-fits-all multiplier for these giants.

There’s a family connection to our CaliBear, too. California’s iconic grizzly was a brown bear, and brown bears and polar bears are closely related species. Our Polar Bears collection takes that bear-family story north, trading California hills for sea ice.

A silver-white bear carrying a turquoise fish stands out against charcoal heather fabric, with turquoise accents bringing a flash of icy color.
