The Seal of San Francisco
Before the Giants came west, San Francisco belonged to the Seals. In 1950, the city’s beloved baseball club even signed a live sea lion named Major as its mascot—because in San Francisco, legends have never been limited to the human kind.
Nearly forty years later, just after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, sea lions began taking over the docks at Pier 39. One became dozens, dozens became hundreds, and before long their barking, bickering and sun-soaked lounging became part of the soundtrack of the waterfront.
Then came Chonkers: the enormous Steller sea lion whose arrival reminded everyone that San Francisco will always make room for a big personality.
From Major at the ballpark to the famous colony on the docks, these lovable heavyweights have become part of the city’s identity—loud, resilient, unconventional and completely at home by the Bay.
The Seal of San Francisco hat celebrates that history in deep corduroy with a black denim bill and an embroidered silver seal. Only 150 will be made, with every hat individually numbered by hand as part of the original edition. Note the custom Yofi measuring tape interior.
A wearable piece of San Francisco lore. Once all 150 find a home, this edition disappears into history.

Behind the design · Seal of San Francisco
Salt air. Cold innings. Home.
There’s a particular kind of San Francisco day: gray water, a wind that finds its way through your jacket, and a ballgame you stay for anyway. This seal brings the waterfront and the ballpark together, with a little old-school character. For the people who pack an extra layer, take the long way along the water, and wouldn’t trade the city’s rough edges for perfect weather.
